Is it cheaper to pay at the heliport?

Sometimes, but not by much: the walk-up fare is a little over CA$200 per adult plus Ontario tax, which lands close to the $151 Viator price once converted.

The classic flight is a walk-in attraction, so you can simply turn up and pay. The advantage of booking is a fixed price in US dollars and free cancellation up to 24 hours before; the advantage of walking up is that you can wait for a clear spell on a cloudy day. Niagara Helicopters also runs a "no fly, no pay" policy at the heliport.

How much do children pay?

Less than adults: on Viator the classic flight has a child rate for ages 2 to 11, and infants fly on a lap.

Niagara Helicopters welcomes passengers from one month to 100 years old. On the US-side guided day, children must be at least 40 inches tall for the flight. The private flights from Niagara-on-the-Lake price per seat, so a child counts as a passenger.

What does the extra money buy on longer flights?

More time aloft and wine country: the Grand Adventure is sold as 20 minutes and adds Niagara-on-the-Lake, Brock's Monument and the vineyards.

Be realistic about the clock. The airport is north of the falls, so part of the flight is the run down to them, and several 2026 reviewers said the time over the sights felt closer to 10 to 15 minutes. You also need to get to the airport yourself, about 25 minutes' drive from Niagara Falls.

Are the combo tours with a helicopter good value?

They are if you would book the parts anyway: the $338 Canadian-side day includes hotel pickup, the flight, the falls boat and Journey Behind the Falls.

Bought separately, the flight alone is most of that price, and the guide handles tickets and queues for the rest. The US-side version at $299 adds Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds. Both are small groups of up to seven. Lunch is not included.

What extras might you pay on the day?

Mainly the souvenir photo, sold at the gift shop after the flight; buying it is optional.

Parking at the Victoria Avenue heliport is free. If you book a flight from Niagara-on-the-Lake or the US side, budget for getting to the airport unless your tour includes transport. Gratuities are not included on any of the tours.

Is there a cheaper way to see the falls from above?

Yes: the Fallsview Balloon on the US side rises about 500 feet for from $68, and the towers on the Canadian side cost less again.

Book early in your trip with free cancellation, then rebook if cloud grounds the flights.

Prices on Viator do not usually drop at the last minute, and summer afternoons bring the longest queues at the heliport. A booking you can cancel up to 24 hours before costs you nothing if the forecast turns.
